Abstract:We present a theoretical model of a ring similariton fiber laser employing nonlinear spectrum compression. A pair of tunnel-coupled optical fibers is used for passive mode-locking. The laser characteristics are simulated for a wide range of laser operation regimes and configuration parameters. The optimized laser system design enables generation of pulses with the maximal efficiency and spectral density providing the lowest losses of energy inside the cavity.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
