Spectroscopy of four-dimensional N = 1 supersymmetric SU(3) Yang-Mills theory

Abstract: Abstract. Supersymmetric gauge theories are an important building block for extensions of the standard model. As a first step towards Super-QCD we investigate the pure gauge sector with gluons and gluinos on the lattice, in particular the low energy mass spectrum: meson-like gluinoballs, gluino-glueballs and pure glueballs. We report on some first calculations performed with clover improved Wilson fermions on rather small lattices. The supersymmetric continuum limit and particle masses are discussed and compar… Show more

“…One major effort by the DESY-Münster-Regensburg-Jena Collaboration, currently using clover improvement, has made significant progress in recent years [103 -110]. A second group recently began exploring a SYM analogue of the twisted-mass fermion action [111,112], aiming to improve the formation of composite supermultiplets at nonzero gaugino masses and lattice spacings, and thereby gain better control over the chiral and continuum extrapolations.…”

“…First results for this theory by our collaboration can be found in [8][9][10]. Another investigation of this theory is presented in [11]. Our simulations rely on the specific approach of using Wilson fermions and a tuning of the gluino mass to restore chiral symmetry and supersymmetry.…”

“…Their results confirm the formation of the predicted super-multiplets and reveal, that the glueballs are heavier than the mesons. Simulations for the gauge group SU (3) are underway [20,21]. Another strategy is to look at the dimensionally reduced model, namely N = (2, 2) SYM theory in two dimensions.…”
