Responsible consumer not only reduces consumption and selects environmentally friendly or ethical products, but also actively manifesting their beliefs by taking part in consumer boycotts. Consumer boycott is a temporary cessation of buying the products of unethical company in order to persuade it to change the behaviour. Social media are becoming increasingly important factor influencing consumer behaviour. Social media make it easier to exchange information about products on the unprecedented scale, which determines purchasing decisions, especially since consumers are more likely to believe the opinions of other consumers than businesses. Thanks to social media adverse information about the company and call for a boycott of its products can spread on a large scale in a short period of time. Although that consumer boycotts in Poland are much less common than in developed countries, it has occurred here some effective consumer boycotts such as AntyNC + or boycott the LPP.
