Spin Pumping Induced Inverse Spin-Hall Effects in ${\rm La}_{0.7}{\rm Sr}_{0.3}{\rm MnO}_{3}$/Platinum Bilayer Film

Abstract: Ferromagnetic/paramagnetic bilayer systems have been used to investigate inverse spin-Hall effect (ISHE) extensively with the technique of spin-pumping which is based on a mechanism driving the spin moment from ferromagnetic layers into paramagnetic layers via the ferromagnetic resonance procession. When the spin current is induced in the paramagnetic layer, a transversal electrical potential difference is generated and can be measured. Among many, platinum is the most effective paramagnetic metal with a stron… Show more

“…Enlighted by our pioneer work on La 0.7 Sr 0.3 MnO 3 (LSMO)/Pt bilayers 25, 26 , it is realized that a systematic SP-FMR study should include all essential physical parameters for the investigated materials as well as a comprehensive analysis on FMR data, such that the origin of disagreement among reports could be self-prevailed. In this work we utilize the technique of cavity SP-FMR to investigate the intrinsic spin current properties on two series of LSMO/Pt bilayers with varying the thickness of LSMO and Pt.…”

“…The interest of this study is two folds. First, from the material aspect of view the hole-doped perovskite LSMO is a material less studied in the subject of ISHE 2529 but with unique characteristics such as high spin polarization, half-metallic band structure 30 and room temperature colossal magnetoresistance 31 . It is a potential candidate for spin pump because of its low damping constant.…”

“…In addition to transition metal FMs, other conducting FMs, such as Heusler compounds [60,62,63], FM oxides (e.g. La 0.7 Sr 0.3 MnO 3 ) [64][65][66], intermetallics (e.g. Fe 3 Si) [67,68], and Fe 4 N [69], have been used for spin pumping experiments.…”

“…There are a few reports where spin pumping has been investigated in LSMO/Pt bilayers for which the LSMO is primarily prepared by pulsed laser deposition technique. [22][23][24][25][26][27] In this work, we aim to study LSMO/Pt bilayers where the samples have been fabricated by oxide molecular beam epitaxy (OMBE) technique. In recent years OMBE has been proven to be an excellent technique to grow high qualilty complex oxide thin films.…”
