“…It is a poorly known, species-rich genus of perennial, rosular herbs, erect herbs or subshrubs found in China, Myanmar, Vietnam, Bhutan, India and Indonesia (Chen and Taylor 2011). Spiradiclis taxa usually have cymose or paniculiform inflorescences with heterostylous 5-merous flowers (Deng et al 2014, Wang et al 2015. According to recent taxonomic studies, Spiradiclis comprises at least 50 species, most of grow in favor karst caves or shaded hill cliffs in secondary forests (Deng et al 2014, Wang et al 2015, Wu et al 2015a, b, Wang 2016a, usually in association with ferns and species of Gesneriaceae, Begoniaceae and Loganiaceae (Wen et al 2015).…”

“…The genus comprise about 50 species and ca. 91% species can be found in China, the center of species diversity (Chen and Taylor 2011, Deng et al 2014, Wang et al 2015, Wen et al 2015, Wu et al 2015, Wang 2016). Spiradiclis species are usually similar to Ophiorrhiza L. because of their similar inflorescence and flower characters, but the former is characterized by globose or ovoid (vs. strongly laterally compressed in Ophiorrhiza ) capsules.…”
