Spread Moored FPSO for Very Shallow Water Depth

Abstract: The paper describes the design process for an asymmetric, disconnectable spread mooring system for a tanker-based FPSO offshore West Africa in 50 feet of water. The mooring system design process was driven by cost effective solutions to the challenges of this particular oil reserve. The final mooring design is installed and operating successfully today. This mooring system design was a unique solution using engineering innovations to solve the challenges of ultra shallow water.
