Abstract:A T‐shaped Pt0 complex with a diphosphine‐borane (DPB) ligand was prepared. The Pt→B interaction enhances the electrophilicity of the metal and triggers the addition of Lewis bases to give the corresponding tetracoordinate complexes. For the first time, anionic Pt0 complexes are isolated and structurally authenticated. X‐ray diffraction analyses show the anionic complexes [(DPB)PtX]− (X=CN, Cl, Br, I) to be square‐planar. The d10 configuration and Pt0 oxidation state of the metal were unambiguously established… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
