Abstract:Modern biodiversity monitoring is generating increasingly multidimensional representations of wildlife populations and ecosystems. It is therefore appealing for conservation and environmental governance to combine that information into single measure of ecosystem or population health. The Jacobian matrix is a common characteristic used to identify the sensitivity of simulated/mathematical systems to perturbation (a.k.a. its resilience) and predict its near future dynamics. Jacobians have therefore been suggest… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
