“…This variable accounts for 6 per cent of the variance in PPP-PHPs success. Ogunsanmi (2013) studying stakeholder perception of success on PPP projects in Nigeria postulated that, the identification of the most suitable, efficient and transparent procurement route that ensures VfM remains a crucial factor towards success. He further contended that a compromise of the procurement process is a recipe for failure.…”

“…Interestingly, "Stable macro-economic condition and sound economic policy" emerged as the fifth factor in the optimum model. Studies by Babatunde et al (2012) and Ogunsanmi (2013) in Nigeria and Abdul-Aziz (2010) on PPP housing projects in Malaysia stated that appropriate economic policies that lead to a stable and growing economic environment are sine qua non to enhancing success on PPP projects and as such remains the much sought after success factor by stakeholders and parties in the PPPs. Babatunde et al (2012) and Ogunsanmi (2013) further alluded that sound stable economic policies ensures reduction in excessive cost overrun and maintains the confidence and full support of the private sector's interest in the project.…”

“…For instance, in Yuan et al's (2012) study, the support of the general public and society had a moderate rank. Similarly, in Ogunsanmi's (2013) study, different stakeholders, namely clients, consultants and contractors, ranked general public and social support at a moderate level. The difference between the findings may be attributed to the fact that our study considers stage-level factors rather than phaselevel factors, meaning that a factor that is not found important at the phase level among a high number of factors may come out to be more important when the stage is considered.…”
