Stark broadening tables for the helium I 447.1 line

Abstract: Context. Stark broadening of the 447.1 line of neutral helium in a weakly coupled plasma has been studied. This spectral line has a very close forbidden component. This means it is very sensitive to the plasma electron density, which is similar to hydrogen lines, for which the Stark effect is linear. Aims. The aim of this work is to supply information to be used in the spectroscopic diagnostics of plasmas. Methods. We used computer simulations in the frame of a physical model for a plasma with weak coupling be… Show more

“…[22] with the NIST atomic data [23]. The Stark broadening parameters of the He I lines, including the F-A separation and ratio, have been previously tabulated [24,25]; the agreement between these calculations and our results is within 10% for the plasma parameters considered in the present study.…”

“…First, from the distance between the peaks of the He I 4471 according to Pérez et al (1996), which have a value of 2.04 × 10 23 m −3 , or through the expression supplied by Ivković et al (2010), which leads to a value of 2.07×10 23 m −3 . However, a comparison of the whole profile of this line to the simulation results (Gigosos & González 2009) (see Fig. 10) provides a value of 2.40 × 10 23 m −3 .…”

“…The physical model considered and the mathematical details of the calculation procedure can be found in Gigosos & Cardeñoso (1996), Gigosos &González (2009), andLara et al (2012). Here we give a summary of the technique and point out the particular details of this work.…”

“…[4][5][6] and references therein). Recently, their profiles as calculated using computer simulation (CS) technique have been published for a large range of electron density n e [7,8]. Although the Stark broadening of He lines is relatively well researched and there are many bibliographic data, it is not always possible to use it as a plasma probe.…”
