Statistical Analysis of the Number of Infections with Corona Virus in Some Arab Countries Using the Method of Least Significant Difference

Abstract: In this research, we applied actual data related to the number of infections with the Corona virus for some Arab countries for the month of February of the year 2022, where the method of least significant difference (LSD) was used to find out the significant differences in the number of infections between any two Arab countries. First, the completely random design method (CRD) was used to obtain a table of analysis of variance (ANOVA) and to know in general whether there are significant differences in the numb… Show more

“…By applying the ordinary least squares method (OLS), which makes the sum of the squares of errors as small as possible, by performing partial differential with respect to the parameters (𝑏 2 Μ‚, 𝑏 1 Μ‚, π‘Ž Μ‚) after setting them equal to zero, we obtained the following equations: [4], [5] βˆ‘ From the equation (3), we get: 6) Therefore, the parameter π‘Ž Μ‚ can be obtained from equation (6), as follows:…”

“…However, Egypt still leads the world in total fatalities, followed by Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and the United Arab Emirates. Alkutubi H. and colleagues [6] used the least significant difference (LSD) method to apply actual data regarding the number of infections in several Arab countries for the month of February 2022 in order to identify the significant differences in the number of coronavirus infections between any two Arab countries. To generate an analysis of variance (ANOVA) table and ascertain whether or not there are statistically significant differences in the number of infections among Arab countries, the complete random design (CRD) approach was first used to reject the null hypothesis.…”
