El dolor en el paciente oncológico es un aspecto que las enfermeras tratan de manejar de la manera más eficaz y segura. Para ello la literatura científica describe interevenciones farmacológicas y no farmacológicas. Orientada a estas ultimas hay una revisión sistématica que recomienda intervenciones como la acupresión. Sin embargo al realizar una revisión de lo publicado en esa revisión sistematica (post peer review) se identifican fallos en la misma que deben hacernos tomar con precaución sus recomendaciones. A través de esta caso práctico ponemos de manifiesto la importancia de la lectura crítica de la evidencia científica , si como de los cuidados basados en ciencia y alejados de pseucociencias.
