Statistical-Mechanical Foundations for a Generalized Thermodynamics of Dissipative Processes

Abstract: A statistical‐mechanical formalism for nonequilibrium systems, namely the nonequilibrium statistical operator method, provides microscopic foundations for a generalized thermodynamics of dissipative processes.
