Abstract:The Optical Burst-Train Switching (OBTS) network efficiently transports multi-granular subwavelength constant-bit-rate (CBR) and variable-bitrate (VBR) traffic streams over an all-optical network with sparse wavelength convertibility while minimizing access blocking of traffic streams. Sub-wavelength traffic streams are shaped into periodic burst-trains at network edge with variable burst sizes. Proactive periodic reservation of burst-trains minimizes reservation signaling and scheduling overheads. OBTS combin… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
