“…speciosa fruits, have been reported. For example, P. chrysogenum (isolate 13 in our work) has shown the ability to synthesize penicillin and xanthocillin X, treatment of pulp mill waste, production of polyamine oxidase, phospho-gluconate dehydrogenase, and glucose oxidase (Frisvad & Samson, 2004), and biogenesis of silver nano-nanoparticles (Abd El Aty et al, 2020). The species P. purpurogenum (isolate 17 in our work) has been shown as a potentially effective tool in the food industry (Zavaleta & Eyzaguirre, 2016) and production of the natural pigments (Tsiailanis et al, 2018;Pandit et al, 2020;Parul et al, 2020).…”

“…The results obtained by Muhsin and Hachim (2016) showed that Tirmania nivea silver-nanoparticles exhibited an inhibition activity of (14.5–28 mm inhibition zones diameter) against the tested pathogenic bacterial strains like E. coli and P. aeruginosa. The model accuracy was validated under the maximum conditions, showed the best IZDs of trials 2, 6 and 11 and the obtained data showed the efficiency of the applied model and indicated the dependence of particles activity on the reaction conditions which affected the particles size and shape ( Abd El Aty et al, 2020 ).…”

“…Therefore, the Response surface methodology (RSM) with 13 experiments was applied for controlling the nanoparticles morphology and size, and help rapid AgNPs biosynthesis. ( Abd El Aty et al, 2020 , Ibrahim et al, 2021 ). All prepared Truffle-AgNPs (1–13) have better antimicrobial activities than the first reaction conditions (1 mM AgNO 3 and pH 7).…”

“…We have also mentioned other P. chrysogenum strains regarding their capacity to produce a large variety of secondary metabolites and which were isolated from very diverse ecological niches ( Table 1 ). Extending the field a little further, we can mention some additional biotechnological uses that are currently under investigation, such as the capacity of the Giza desert isolate P. chrysogenum MF318506 to produce nanoparticles with antimicrobial activities [ 361 , 362 ], the high bioremediation capacity against polychlorinated biphenyls (up to 96.5% removal) of two P. chrysogenum strains isolated from contaminated soils in France [ 363 ], and the use of an alginate-immobilized tyrosinase isolated from strain P. chrysogenum AUMC 14100 to remove phenol [ 364 ]. Additional biotechnology uses have been found for a mini-intein of only 157 amino acids present in the splicing-factor protein PRP8 of strain P. chrysogenum Pch-1 [ 365 ].…”
