Abstract:In this paper, we studied the Klausmeier-Gray-Scott model with non-diffusive plants, which is a coupled ordinary differential equation-partial differential equation (ODE-PDE) system. We first established the critical conditions for instability of the constant steady state in general coupled ODE-PDE activator-inhibitor systems. Turing instability does not occur when the selfactivator is diffusive and the self-inhibitor is non-diffusive. Conversely, Turing instability occurred and was caused by the continuous sp… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
