Stepping Up Water System Security

Abstract: Since September 11, water system security has become a critical issue. Although most systems already have security measures as well as an emergency response plan in place, the actions of that day call for increased, and perhaps heretofore unthought of, efforts to secure America's water supplies from attack. These and other issues were discussed in a phone interview with J. Allen Rose, Vice‐president of Black & Veatch's special projects corporation and are reported in this article.
