Stereostructure Dependence Phenomenon on the Self-Assembly of Ala-Ala-Ala Lipotripeptides

Abstract: A series of lipotripeptide stereoisomers based on alanine were synthesized, and their self-assembling behaviors were studied by means of circular dichroism spectra, ATR-IR, temperature-dependent 1 H NMR, and X-ray diffraction patterns. In the mixed solvent of hexafluoroisopropanol/H 2 O (1/9, v/v), eight lipotripeptides were able to self-assembled into nanoflakes or nanoribbons driven by the hydrophobic association of alkyl chains, intermolecular hydrogen bonding among carboxyl groups at C-terminal and amide g… Show more

“…Since the d-spacing of 2.99 nm was between one and two times of the molecular length of D-PhgC16 (2.4 nm calculated by Gaussian 16), the D-PhgC16 self-assemblies was a typical bilayer structure. 40,41 In reference to D-PhgC16/MPD co-assemblies, d1 = 2.97 nm and d2 = 1.52 nm…”
