Stoneley attenuation length and pore fluid salinity

Abstract: The dependence of the Stoneley attenuation length on the concentration and composition of salt in pore fluid observed in experiments may be associated with osmosis. The salinity dependence is relevant to methods in which the permeability of porous formations is estimated from its relationship with the Stoneley attenuation length.
