Abstract:Background
Vitamin D, a hormone involved in the regulation of mineral homeostasis, protects skeletal integrity and modulates cell growth and differentiation. Recently, its potential antifibrotic effects have also been identified. Children with chronic liver disease mostly suffer from vitamin D deficiency.
