“…After the fly ash content exceeded 70%, both the permeability and the above sensibility decreased. This trend in concert with findings of (Behera SK et al 2019), which reported that a water film was formed and adsorbed by the spherical surfaces when the fly ash came into contact with water. As the fly ash content increased, the amount of free water consumed by the formation of water film decreased dramatically.…”

“…As an environment-friendly coal mining method, sand-based cemented backfill (SCB) technology is widely used to control rock strata under buildings, railways, and water bodies (Behera SK et al 2019). However, in SCB mining below water bodies and above the confined water, the adjacent aquifers can be damaged.…”

“…Wang et al (2020a) reported that cyclic loading and unloading had perceptible effect on the mechanical properties of CTB, and the direct reason for the change of UCS is the change of deformation modulus caused by cyclic loading and unloading. In addition, to improve the mechanical properties of CTB, many scholars investigated the influence of alternative binders [fly ash (Behera et al, 2020), lime (Sharma and Kumar, 2021), limestone powder (Zheng et al, 2016), granulated blast furnace slag (Mashifana and Sithole, 2021), copper slag (Chen et al, 2021c), and lithium slag (He et al, 2019)], synthetic fibers [polypropylene fibers (Chakilam and Cui, 2020), polyacrylonitrile fibers (Cao et al, 2019b), and glass fibers (Zhou et al, 2021)], and plant fibers [rice straw (Wang et al, 2020b;Chen et al, 2020) and corn straw (Wang et al, 2021a)] on the mechanical properties of CTB. The above literatures obtained plentiful valuable results and enhanced the understanding of the mechanical properties of CTB.…”

“…The generation of a large quantity of FA not only requires a large area of precious land for its disposal but also has become one of the sources of environmental pollution of both air and water. 3 The need for new and innovative methods is urged for reducing the impact on the environment due to the above issues of FA. The existing classical approach for the disposal of FA into the FA pond accomplishes the transportation of FA in the form of a slurry.…”
