Abstract:Infective endocarditis is a relatively rare disease which, despite today's advances in diagnosis and treatment, is still associated with a high morbidity and mortality rate. Staphylococci and streptococci head the list of causative organisms. Few cases of Streptococcus gordonii endocarditis have been reported in the literature.
We report the case of a 34-year-old man with no previous history of S. gordonii IE, responsible for multiple systemic embolisms in addition to valvular lesions.
