Abstract:Hydrogen permeation studies in Palladium and Palladium alloys reveal that hydrogen diffusion is non-Fickian in metals and their alloys due to the stress field induced by the hydrogen in their lattice. Previously the non-Fickian, uphill diffusion of hydrogen in Pd 81 Pt 19 alloy membrane was explained by attributing it to the modification in the space-time variation of the concentration of dissolved hydrogen in the metal lattice due to Diffusion-Elastic effect . This paper reports evidence for the combined effe… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
