Abstract: Very little is known about the range, diet and eco-ethology of the African striped hyena, compared to its sympatric hyena species; the spotted hyena. Here we present the results of bone assemblages collected in eight striped hyena dens located in a pastoralists’ area in and near the Shompole conservancy, southern Kenya.
