Abstract:EditorialStroke is the second cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide [1]. The reduced blood flow generates ischemia area due to multiple processes such as excitotoxicity, ionic imbalance, depolarization of the peri-infarcted area, oxidative stress, inflammation and apoptosis, leading to neuronal death [2].
