Abstract: Neurofilaments (NFs) are essential building blocks of axonal architecture. Abnormal behavior of these cytostructural elements has been associated with several neuromuscular disorders such as Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). NFs are assembled from three subunits: Low (NFL), Medium (NFM) and Heavy (NFH).
