Structure and composition of nanotubes formed during the anode oxidation of titanium

Abstract: The structure and composition of nanotubes ≈1.5 μm long and ≈100 nm in diameter, formed elec trolytically on the surfaces of titanium plates in a two electrode cell at room temperature in a 0.5 wt % NH 4 F solution in ethylene glycol and glycerin, were studied by analytical and diffraction transmission electron microscopy.
