The role played by credit for sustainable agricultural activities cannot be overemphasized. The study evaluated the role of credit facilities as drivers to small scale rice farmers’ productivity in Wukari Local Government Area Taraba State, Nigeria. A multi stage sampling procedure was used to sample 250 respondents from the study area. The study found that seed (p = 0.03), fertilizer (p = 0.01), and farm size (p = 0.01) were the key determinants of productivity for the rice farmers who had access to credit facilities while labour (p = 0.056) and seed (p = 0.01) were the determinants of productivity for the non-access to credit facilities counterparts. The finding show that years in school, farm size and age are the factors that influenced access to credit facilities. Finally, interest rate (92.8%), lack of collateral security (89.6%), lending criteria (72%) and government regulations (70.8%) are the major problem associated with access to credit facilities. It was therefore recommended that Public and private partnerships should be encouraged to develop innovative financial products and services tailored farmer’s activities with a goal of offering competitive interest rates. Continuous review and policies adaptation related to interest rates in agricultural lending to ensure they remain effective and responsive to changing economic conditions and the needs of farmers.

The potential of Wild Guinea fowl for domestication is still not totally exploited as there are needs for improved variability. This study was done in order to analyze egg features of wild Guinea fowl, Numida meleagris. A total of 27 eggs were obtained from three different markets in Ogun state and they were assessed for both external and internal features. Highest values of Haugh unit, albumen width, albumen height and egg shape index of 89.28%, 41.36mm, 6.34mm and 81.56% were recorded in eggs collected at Sabo market respectively. Highest egg width-37.57mm, egg weight- 34.38g and yolk diameter- 34.94mm were reported from eggs sourced from Itoku market while highest egg length-46.99mm, yolk height-16.29mm, yolk index-48.24% and albumen index- 24% were recorded in eggs obtained at Oke-Aje markets. Eggs internal and external parameters were not significantly different between the three markets (p > 0.05) but correlation between the parameters varied from positive to negative. Considerable association were found between egg shape index and egg’s weight, albumen index and albumen width, weight of eggs and egg length, using Pearson's correlation coefficients with p-value of significance at 0.05 and 0.01. It is concluded that the wild eggs of guinea fowls sourced from the three markets had good quality traits in terms of the Haugh unit.

Salak pondoh has profitable agribusiness opportunities. The high level of population and tourists in Bogor City gave rise to many modern markets and traditional markets that provide fruits including pondoh salak. However, the characteristics of salak fruit that are easily damaged often in the process of distributing goods from producers to consumers there is an activity that triggers uncertainty. The quantity of actors involved in the marketing process can affect the marketing behavior of each marketing actor, so the research objective is to analyze market behavior by studying the process of price formation, the marketing chain, and the marketing function. The location selection was carried out purposively, namely Bogor Market and Jambu Dua Market which are markets that are mostly visited by the people of Bogor. The total number of respondents was 32 people consisting of 6 retailers, 5 collectors, and 21 farmers. The behavior of the pondoh salak market was analyzed using qualitative methods, namely the analysis of pricing practices, selling and buying practices of products from each marketer. Pricing at the farm level is determined by the next marketing agency, namely collecting traders, while at the trader level, pricing is carried out independently based on price information from the market. There is one marketing channel that is formed, namely farmers who sell to village collectors, village collectors sell to wholesalers, namely the Kramat Jati Market, wholesalers sell to Bogor City retailers and then sell to final consumers.
