“…It should however be noted that the conductivity is related to charge carrier mobility, which is more precise than the conductivity. Therefore, we measured the charge carrier mobility of the polymers using space charge limited current method by following an earlier established procedure . The charge carrier mobility of all the polymers was found to be low (Table S13, ESI).…”

“…Recently, perylenebisimide (PBI) and its derivatives have been widely applied to the areas of uorescence probe and intracellular uorescence imaging image, [1][2][3][4][5] organic photovoltaic devices, [6][7][8][9][10][11][12] charge transporting materials, [13][14][15][16][17][18] luminescent materials [19][20][21][22][23][24] and triplet photosensitizers [25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32] due to its excellent luminous performance, photo-stability and electronic transmission capacity. Traditional PBI dyes always show the strong absorption in visible region and with small Stokes shi (generally less than 60 nm).…”

“…A stepwise reduction of the length of the alkoxy chains from dodecyl to butyl (two examples are PBI-51 and PBI-52 in Figure 9d) reveals nonyl as the minimum chain length required for monotropic columnar mesomorphism to occur, and dodecyl chains as the minimum length for enantiotropic mesomorphism to occur. [99,100] The monotropic columnar mesophases of derivatives with side-chains of 9 to 11 carbon atoms likely have rectangular structures (Col r ) based on preliminary XRD data. The dodecyl substituted PBI-50 gives the highest charge carrier mobility of 10 À 3 cm 2 V À 1 s À 1 for all derivatives measured by the space-charge-limited current method.…”
