Kaliau Village has potential that can be further explored, both socially and culturally. One of the local wisdom owned by the Dayak Salako Tribal Community in Kaliau Village is the utilization of plants as the resources of traditional medicines. This research aims to gain information about the local wisdom of the Dayak Salako Tribal Community in Kaliau Village, Sambas Regency in using medicinal plants. This research was conducted in Kaliau Village, Sajingan Besar District, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan Province. We used all of tthe Dayak tribal community in Kaliau Village as population. The sample of informants was taken using the snowball sampling method. The qualitative method is used in this research by collecting the data, interviews, observation, and documentation of potential medicinal plants in Kaliau Village. Dayak Salako Tribal Community in Kaliau Village has utilized fifteen species of single plants and two concoctions as alternative medicines to treat certain diseases. Several plants can only utilize the leaves part, bark, pulp of fruit, and roots. However, several plants can also utilize all of the parts. Processing plants for traditional medicines is drinking, eating, or applying them to body parts.

Currently, people still choose traditional medicine as one of the options to maintain their health. This conventional medicine uses ingredients from wild plants taken from the forest or plants grown in the home yard. Although the forest provides various medicinal plants, many are currently cultivated in the yard for easy access when needed. This study aims to analyze medicinal plants in the home yard used by Battra in Pentek Village, Sadaniang District, Mempawah Regency. This study used a survey method by conducting interviews with all Battra in Pentek Village. We then analyzed plant species, habitus and parts of plants used, processing methods, usage methods, and state of concoction. The results showed that Battra in Pentek Village used 37 medicinal plants in their home yards, with the most widely used plant family being Zingiberaceae (5 species). The most frequently used plant habitus was herb (56.76%), and the most commonly used plant part was leaves (28.81%). The processing method used was boiling (37.14%), and the usage method was drinking (39%)—the form of concoction used as a mixture (70.27%).

The Malays and the Dayak are the dominant tribes in West Kalimantan. Different tribes have different species of plants or the way they use medicinal plants. This study aims to analyze the type, processing method, and the use method of medicinal plants by traditional healers (Battra) from the Malay and Dayak Mahap tribes in Tembesuk village, Sekadau Regency. This study used a survey method, and the selection of respondents (Batrra) was carried out by purposive sampling technique. In Tembesuk Village, 8 Battra consist of 5 Malays and 3 Dayak Mahap people. The results showed that 80 species of plants were used by Batrra in Tembesuk village. Sixty species are distributed in the Malay tribe traditional healers, while the Dayak Mahap tribe traditional healers use 35 species. The plant part with the highest uses are leaves (60% of the Malays and 64.44% of the Dayak Mahap). The most common processing method is boiled (41.54% of the Malays and 41.18% of the Dayak Mahap), the way of use is drunk (35.82% of the Malays, and 41.18% Dayak Mahap). Most of the plants are wild (66.67% Malay and 58.33% Dayak Mahap), and the plant family with extensive use is Zingiberaceae (six plants in Malay and five in Dayak Mahap).
