“…Kierland, Herrell and O'Leary (1950) saw photosensitivity in 1 out of 7 cases treated with equally high doses. Shaffer et al (1950) found this reaction in 4 out of 13 cases with chronic liver disease, who received 2 g a day for a long period; Schwachman and Schuster (1956) in 9 out of 300 children treated with chlortetracycline (10 or 20 mg per kg bodyweight). Jirdsek and Schwank (1959) and Krauskopf et al (1959) reported 2 cases each.…”
