Study of Periodic Fabrication Error of Optical Splitter Device Performance

Abstract: In this paper, the effect of fabrication errors (FEs) on the performance of 1×4 optical power splitter is investigated in details. The FE, which is assumed to take regular shape, is considered in each section of the device. Simulation result show that FE has a significant effect on the output power especially when it occurs in coupling regions.
