Study of Structural and Dielectric Properties of Copper Oxide Nanoparticles Prepared by Wet Chemical Precipitation Method

Abstract: We report the synthesis of copper oxide ( CuO ) nanoparticles prepared by wet chemical precipitation method. The structural and dielectric properties are studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and complex impedance spectroscopy as a function of frequencies from 40 KHz to 100 KHz in the range of temperatures (308–393K). Maximum value of dielectric constants are found to be in the order of 106 which increases with increase in temperatures. F… Show more

“…The XRD is calibrated with a standard silicon sample. The broadening of peaks is corrected with Warren rule [10][11][12] that arises due to instrumental effect. Continuous scanning is applied in the range from 25-90° (2θ) at a scanning rate of 1 sec/step and step size is 0.02° of 2θ.…”

“…Now NaOH is slowly added drop by drop into the (solution 1, 2, 3) and stirred at room temperature for half an hour and white solutions is obtained as (solution 7, 8, 9). Again, to prepare iron (Fe) dopped ZnO we prepared FeCl3 solution separately of three different concentration 0.025 M, 0.05 M and 0.1 M as (solution 10,11,12) and mixed with the solution of (4, 5, 6) and (7,8,9) to have solution (13,14,15). The thin films are deposited on glass substrate.…”

“…Copper oxide NPs (CuO NPs) can remarkably decrease cell vi-ability in cancer cells (6)(7)(8)(9)(10). Various methods can be used to synthesize CuO NPs, such as sol-gel (11), ultrasonic mixing and self-assembly methods (12), microwave irradiation (13), precipitation (14), electrochemical, and so on (15). To the best of our knowledge, all of the mentioned processes are harmful materials for synthesizing CuO NPs except the green synthesis of CuO from natural resources in a way that it has emerged as a convenient, non-toxic, mild, and rapid process (16).…”
