Study of structural, morphological and magnetic properties of Ba0.5Sr0.5Fe12O19

Abstract: Single-phase barium Strontium hexaferrite (Ba 0.5 Sr 0.5 Fe 12 O 19 -BSF) was synthesized by sol-gel method using metal nitrates as source and D-Fructose as a fuel. The phase formation, surface morphology and magnetic properties of the samples were analyzed by X-ray Diffraction, High-resolution Scanning Electron Microscope (HR-SEM) and Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM). X-ray analysis indicates that the sintered samples were remained in hexagonal structure. The densities of the sintered samples at 1,150°C we… Show more

“…The size of the grains in the ceramics also grow gradually as the sintering temperature increased. The dense barium hexaferrite ceramic with a homogenous grain diagonal about *5-7 lm were obtained when being sintered at 1,150°C for 3 h. This result consistent with previously reported work [22,23]. The control of sintering temperatures and duration of the process is thus important in hard ferrite fabrication [24].…”

“…The microstructures and mechanical and electromagnetic properties of 3Y‐TZP/Ba 0.5 Sr 0.5 Fe 12 O 19 composites prepared by two methods are investigated in this work. The Ba 0.5 Sr 0.5 Fe 12 O 19 is chosen as a second phase and is expected to modify the magnetic properties of the BaFe 12 O 19 . Two methods are adopted and compared to obtain the composites with fine and homogeneously dispersed grains of the second phase.…”

“…The Ba 0.5 Sr 0.5 Fe 12 O 19 is chosen as a second phase and is expected to modify the magnetic properties of the BaFe 12 O 19 . [19][20][21][22] Two methods are adopted and compared to obtain the composites with fine and homogeneously dispersed grains of the second phase. The distribution of the Ba 0.5 Sr 0.5 Fe 12 O 19 phase is described quantitatively using the fractal theory.…”
