Study of the electrical properties of calcium‐substituted Li–Zn ferrite

Abstract: Temperature and composition dependence of the dc resistivity (ρdc) and thermoelectric power (α) of Li0.3–0.5x Zn0.4Cax Fe2.3–0.5x O4 ferrites (x = 0.0, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03 and 0.05), prepared by the standard ceramic method, have been studied. The behavior of both ρdc and α with temperature support the electron hopping conduction mechanism in the ferrimagnetic phase while the band mechanism dominates in the paramagnetic phase. Moreover, it was found that both ρdc and α decrease with increasing x up to x = 0.02 and… Show more

“…ions follows the alternating field and, hence, the conductivity of grains is high, so the energy loss is high. On the other hand, in the high-frequency region, the electron exchange cannot follow the alternating field, which causes the conductivity of grains and e 00 to decrease [18]. For 0 B x B 0.8, the increase of e 0 and e 00 is due to the increased amount of dispersed ferrite particles within the polymer matrix.…”

“…The activation energies values were determined from the least square method as the function of Gd 3+ ions [31]. The impact of these magnetic transitions of ferrites on the electrical applications was reported in literature by several researchers [32] [33]. It is evident that the EP values are higher than the EF in all the samples accordance with [34].…”

“…Recently, polycrystalline Li-Zn-Cu ferrite was fabricated as a new temperature sensitive ferrite [7]. In our previous work [8,9] we studied the effect of Ca 2+ substitution on the physical, magnetic, electrical and dielectric properties of Li 0. 3 ferrite.…”
