Study of the excitation function fluctuations of the dissipative28Si+48Ti binary collision in the incident energy interval from 206.9 MeV to 213.8 MeV

Abstract: Abstract. It is shown that the Partially Overlapping Molecular Level Model (POMLM) accounts for the experimental results of the dissipative 28Si+ 4STi collision around 210 MeV incident energy. The general trend of the properties of the fluctuations as well as the average angular distributions are reproduced by the same set of main parameters. A general consistency is also found between the present data and the data obtained in previous work on the same colliding system performed at lower incident energy (around… Show more

“…Despite the expectation that the contribution of a large number of microchannels to the measured cross section should attenuate the fluctuation amplitude in the EF of the dissipative heavy-ion collisions (DHIC), the fluctuations have been observed and analyzed in EFs for other lightand medium-mass systems: 19 F+ 89 Y [6], 28 Si+ 48 Ti [7,8], 19 F+ 63 Cu [9], 28 Si+ 28 Si [10], 19 F+ 51 V [11]. An explanation of the persistence of the fluctuations in the EFs of DHIC is given in the framework of the partial overlapping molecular level model (POMLM) introducing, in addition to the partial coherence, the hypothesis that the DNS is excited in the low-density region of molecular levels [12,13].…”
