Driver hazard perception is highly related to involvement in traffic accidents, and vision is the most important sense with which we perceive risk. Therefore, it is of great significance to explore the characteristics of drivers’ eye movements to promote road safety. This study focuses on analyzing the changes of drivers’ eye-movement characteristics in anxiety. We used various materials to induce drivers’ anxiety, and then conducted the real driving experiments and driving simulations to collect drivers’ eye-movement data. Then, we compared the differences between calm and anxiety on drivers’ eye-movement characteristics, in order to extract the key eye-movement features. The least squares method of change point analysis was carried out to detect the time and locations of sudden changes in eye movement characteristics. The results show that the least squares method is effective for identifying eye-movement changes of female drivers in anxiety. It was also found that changes in road environments could cause a significant increase in fixation count and fixation duration for female drivers, such as in scenes with traffic accidents or sharp curves. The findings of this study can be used to recognize unexpected events in road environment and improve the geometric design of curved roads. This study can also be used to develop active driving warning systems and intelligent human–machine interactions in vehicles. This study would be of great theoretical significance and application value for improving road traffic safety.

Differences in Driving Intention Transitions Caused by Driver’s Emotion Evolutions

Joining worldwide efforts to understand the relationship between driving emotion and behavior, the current study aimed at examining the influence of emotions on driving intention transition. In Study 1, taking a car-following scene as an example, we designed the driving experiments to obtain the driving data in drivers’ natural states, and a driving intention prediction model was constructed based on the HMM. Then, we analyzed the probability distribution and transition probability of driving intentions. In Study 2, we designed a series of emotion-induction experiments for eight typical driving emotions, and the drivers with induced emotion participated in the driving experiments similar to Study 1. Then, we obtained the driving data of the drivers in eight typical emotional states, and the driving intention prediction models adapted to the driver’s different emotional states were constructed based on the HMM severally. Finally, we analyzed the probabilistic differences of driving intention in divers’ natural states and different emotional states, and the findings showed the changing law of driving intention probability distribution and transfer probability caused by emotion evolution. The findings of this study can promote the development of driving behavior prediction technology and an active safety early warning system.

Research on Influencing Factor Selection of Pilot’s Intention

The physiological, psychological, and physical characteristics of the pilot will have an impact on flight safety, mainly in the pilot’s intention. In another word, this means the pilot’s psychological experience of flight status under the influence of various factors and the preference for decision-making or behavioral value that is displayed. The pilot’s intention is to reflect the cognitive state that the pilot showed during the maneuvering of the aircraft. The exploration of intention is very important for the study of automatic pilot and flight control active safety system. Also, it is an important concept often involved in the study of human factors in flight, especially the microbehavior of pilots. Pilot’s intention is taken as the study object in this paper; physiological-psychological-physical parameters are obtained through analyzing their influencing factors from the simulating flight experiments designed. The random forest analysis method is used to rank the main influencing factors affecting the pilot’s intention, and the factor sequence is formed. The results provide a good foundation for further research on the pilot’s intention identification.
