Abstract:The problem of investigating the nonlinear acoustic waves in stepped acoustic resonators is treated theoretically. A perturbation scheme that combines the method of multi-scale expansion yields a set of coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations for deriving an analytical model to describe the resonant oscillations. The nonlinear sound pressure in stepped resonator is predicted with accuracy up to the second-order terms of a small-amplitude parameter [Formula: see text]. The pressure amplitudes and wave… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
