Study on Replacement of Fine Aggregate with Light Weighted Super Absorbent Material in Internal Curing Concrete: A Review

Abstract

The research on internal post-remediation approaches to high-performing concrete (HPC) for various materials is analyzed in this paper. To achieve the necessary internal hardness, lower the cement suspension's tendency to dry on its own, and drop the chance of cracks in the hardened concrete, common materials are required. Additionally, the behavior of HPC is the primary concern of this study, along with the microstructure of hydrated cement paste, density, strength (compression, tensile, and bending), and shrinkage (self-shrinking and drying). The findings indicated that internal hardness, instead of compressive strength, had a stronger effect on tensile and flexural strength in old age. The interfacial transition area gets denser and stronger as a result of internal solidification. Understanding the effect of waste on internal concrete (ICC) presents the primary challenge in analyzing prior research.
