Study on the electrochemical, thermal, and liquid crystalline properties of poly(diethyleneglycol 1,1′-ferrocene dicarboxylate)

Abstract: Poly(diethyleneglycol 1,1′-ferrocene dicarboxylate) (PDEFD) was synthesized by solution polycondensation reaction of diethylene glycol with 1,1′-ferrocenyl chloride. The synthesized polymer was characterized via the measurement of its 1 H NMR spectrum, UV-vis spectrum, and FTIR spectrum. X-ray diffraction pattern was measured to investigate the crystallinity of the synthesized polymer and it was found that the polymer was mostly amorphous. The molecular weight of the polymer was determined by gel permeation ch… Show more

“…The glass transition temperature (T g ) of PMAEFc was 57°C, while PMAEFc-b-PMVAPBA exhibited comparatively higher T g (77°C). The difference in T g of block copolymer was mainly due to the incorporation of second [29][30][31].…”

“…Ferrocene derivatives are excellent electron transfer mediators, widely used as mediators to construct mediated amperometric biosensors [23][24][25]. Polyvinylferrocenium perchlorate (PVF + ClO 4 − ), ferrocene-based redox polymer, is widely used in biosensor applications [26,27] and gives rise to some interesting electrochemical results when used as a layer on Pt surfaces.…”
