Abstract:A micro-tensile fatigue test of 42CrMo alloy steel was carried out. The result shows that the crack initiation and propagation of the material could be characterized with randomness and localization. There existed two sorts of short fatigue crack propagation behaviors for the tested material, that is, self-propagation and joint propagation with other short cracks.
