Study on Waveform Acoustic Emission Technique for Monitoring Corrosion in Reinforced Concrete Corrosion in Reinforced Concrete

Abstract: Acoustic emission (AE) technique had an extensive application in the healthy monitor aspect as a kind of dynamic of nondestructive testing. This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation during the corrosion of steel rebar embedded in mortar and immersed in sodium chloride solution. Experimental results show AE signal number presents a good corresponding relationship and that waveform acoustic emission signal can be used to disclose the corrosion.
