Study the apoptotic Pathway induced in mammary adenocarcinoma tissue treated by local Iraqi strain of Newcastle disease virus

Abstract: I n tumor pathogenesis and metastasis, defects in apoptosis are essential. They allow tumor cells to overcome nutrient deprivation, absence of growth-stimulating signals, and presence of growth-inhibitory signals, surrounding tissue barriers, hypoxia, oxidative stresses, and host immune responses. Newcastle disease virus is interesting oncolytic agent with promising anti-tumor properties. One of the major anti-tumor properties is apoptotic induction. This study aimed to find out the apoptotic pathway induced b… Show more

“…Naturally occurring oncolytic viruses emerge as novel tools for selective growth in and killing various tumor cells [40]. Furthermore, one of the major antitumor activities is the induction of apoptosis [41,42]. For fully efective tumor eradication and the best chance for complete tumor destruction, it is necessary to combine its mechanism of action with other drugs with selective antitumor activity, like papaverine (nonaddictive opium derivative) with the ability of apoptosis induction [43].…”
