Subsolidus Phase Relations of the SrO-In2O3-CuO System in Air

Abstract: The subsolidus phase relations of the SrO-In 2 O 3 -CuO system were investigated at 900°C in air. Under these conditions, five binary oxide phases are stable: Sr 2 CuO 3 , SrCuO 2 , Sr 14 Cu 24 O 41 , In 2 Cu 2 O 5 and SrIn 2 O 4 . The pseudo-ternary section is characterised by six three-phase regions and is dominated by the SrIn 2 O 4 phase, which is in equilibrium with all other phases.

“…In Figure 1, the pure components A, B, and C are located at the corners, and the formation of the compounds AB, AB 2 , CB, and AC is shown in their respective binary systems. One example found in the literature is the work by Grivel and Thyden, 42 who describe the ternary system SrO−In 2 O 3 −CuO at 900 °C in air, with analogous binary oxides such as Sr 2 CuO 3 , In 2 Cu 2 O 5 , SrIn 2 O 4 , SrCuO 2 , etc. at the three sides of the ternary system.…”
