Substratum‐Associated Microbiota

Abstract: This review of literature published in 2012 covers topics on substratum‐associated microbiota (algae and bacteria) from a variety of aquatic environments, especially freshwater ecosystems. It is not a comprehensive review, rather aims to highlight aspects of methods, taxonomy and systematics, ecology, and current environmental issues such as nuisance taxa, pollutants and climate change.
