Abstract:Subsurface wastewater infiltration systems (SWISs) are suggested to be a cost‐effective and environmentally friendly method for sewage treatment. However, a comprehensive summary of the relevant mechanisms and optimization methods for nitrogen (N) removal in SWIS is currently lacking.
