Successful red deer management in Southern Transdanubia and its physico-geographical background

Abstract: The paper examines the factors of the physical environment which exert remarkable influence on the conditions of game management in Southern Transdanubia, a part of Hungary particularly rich in natural values. The focus is on the the traditional lead game of hunting in Hungary red deer, whose populations – although still rather isolated in space – have showed a spectacular upswing recently.
