Successive parameter estimation of continuous dynamic systems

Abstract: A successive parameter estimation of multivariable systems via the piecewise linear polynomial functions is presented. This successive parameter estimation consists of two steps: discarding the oldest data, and adding new data for updating the estimated parameters. The parameter estimation problem is reduced to algebraic form by the operational matrix concept. Two illustrative examples are presented to demonstrate the utility of this method which exhibit satisfactory results.
