Abstract: Sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) poses a significant risk to life expectancy for individuals with epilepsy. Mechanistic insight, while incomplete, has advanced through clinical observational studies and animal models. Yet we lack preventative therapies, which will depend on understanding SUDEP mechanisms.
