“…We added the new species and T. dornorum (terminal taxa = 32) but did not add any new characters (total characters = 247). We performed a parsimony analysis replicating previous parameters nesBitt et al 2015) in PAUP* version v4.0b10 (sWoFForD 2002) using heuristic searches with 10,000 random addition replicates; consistency (CI) and retention (RI) indices were calculated in PAUP*; characters 2, 5, 10, 11, 20, 32, 52, 72, 204, and 212 were ordered. Trilophosaurus phasmalophos sp.…”

“…The highest stratigraphic occurrence of T. jacobsi is found at the Kahle Quarry (NMMNH L-3775;heckert et al 2004), possibly in the Trujillo Formation-equivalent middle unit of the Cooper Canyon Formation (Martz 2008: 310-311). Spino suchus caseanus is found at the Placerias Quarry within the Lot's Wife beds of the Sonsela Member (Chinle Formation) in Arizona (UCMP A269, which also contains T. jacobsi;spielMann et al 2007spielMann et al , 2008nesBitt et al 2015) as well as the Kahle Quarry (see above), both of which are Adamanian. Another species of Trilopho saurus, T. dorno rum (Mueller & parker 2006), is found at the Post Quarry (MOTT 3624) in the top of the lower unit of the Cooper Canyon Formation of Garza County, Texas (Martz 2008;Martz et al 2013), and at Lott Hill (MOTT 3878) and the Boren Quarry (MOTT 3869) in the lower part of the Cooper Canyon Formation (Mueller & parker 2006;Martz 2008).…”

“…There is a clear lip ventral to the posterior articular surface of MCZ VPRA-9959, whereas it is less developed in MCZ 101539. In lateral view, the cervical centra are parallelogram-shaped, where the anterior articular facets are elevated dorsally compared to the posterior facets; this is common in archosauromorphs with elongated cervical vertebrae (GreGory 1945;sennIkov 2005;nesbItt et al 2015;eZcurra 2016). This configuration indicates that the head and neck were raised relative to the trunk and the neck was curved, which is a common occurrence in early archosauromorphs (eZcurra 2016), as suggested for prolacertiforms (e.g.…”

“…The ventral ridge is more pronounced in MCZ VPRA-9959, whereas parts of the ridge are broken in MCZ 101539. A ventral ridge at the midline is commonly shared by most early archosauromorphs (e.g., Gow 1975;Gottmann-Quesada & sander 2009;prItcHard et al 2015). The anterior and posterior articular surfaces of the centrum are oval and concave.…”
